The Cavalier Credit Union offers students a chance to learn about financial management and how to handle money

Financial Literacy Month is recognized in the United States in the month of April in an effort to emphasize the importance of financial literacy and teach Americans how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits. This Tuesday, April 15, 2019, the South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union (SFEFCU) came to the courtyard at Coral Gables Senior High School and invited students to create an account. Students who joined with the Cavalier Credit Union had a chance to use the Cashinator to win a $10 gift card to either Amazon or Starbucks. Many students created accounts and attempted to win a gift card, while other students already had an account but still wanted to participate in the Cashinator opportunity.

The Cavalier Credit Union offers students a chance to learn about financial management and how to handle money. The students who join and create accounts definitely learn a lot. The students who work for the Cavalier Credit Union, however, have an amazing opportunity to start off their careers already knowledgeable of finance and management. “The Credit Union has offered me many business opportunities,” junior Jonnathan Gonzalez explained. “We learn about money management, teamwork, and public speaking.” Cavalier Credit Union student workers are able to interact with students and help them, while passing on what they have learned in the Academy of Finance.
